2. Belle Mare, East
While this beach is especially lovely as the sun rises, it is also idyllic throughout the rest of the day, too. This beach is popular for windsurfing, swimming and walking, with plenty of sand that stretches from Belle Mare village to Trou dÈau Douce. It is quiet during the week and busier on weekends.
3. Ile aux Cerfs, East
Another child-friendly beach, this is the perfect place for water sports. Snorkelling can be enjoyed in the lagoon, and, if you take a walk down the beach, you are sure to find a quieter spot for swimming. It can get busy on the weekend.
4. La Cuvette, North
This tiny beach is tucked away in Grand Bay, At just 80m long, it is the shortest beach on the island. But, with that said, it’s also one of the loveliest, boasting hidden coves, large boulders, a few snack stands and plenty of tranquillity. This makes it ideal for Mauritius honeymoons.
5. Flic en Flac, West
One of the most famous beaches in Mauritius, Flic en Flac is spectacular. The stretch of white sand slopes into an endless ocean, while the sunsets enjoyed here are breath-taking. There are also beach bars nearby, making this excellent for relaxed holidays as well as honeymoons.
