Mauritius

With beautifully preserved coral reefs that have not been bleached, Mauritius offers some outstanding snorkelling. The shallow lagoon waters are home to a staggering number of species, including parrot fish, groupers, napoleons, sweetlips, angelfish, trumpetfish, clownfish, moray eels,  lobsters, nearly two hundred different species of corals, sponges and sea anemones. The deeper water around the island meanwhile are home to tuna, marlin, sea breams and sharks. Around Tamarin and Flic en Flac, you can see dolphins, while whales are seen during their migration to the south.

Maldives

Sadly, certain parts of the Maldives has been impacted by coral bleaching and global warming. That does not mean you will not be able to see a wide variety of underwater wonders however. It does mean that reefs may be whiter here than other destinations. Thailand

Some Thailand reefs have also been impacted by climate change. Some sites have even been closed to reduce further damage. Kata Beach in Phuket is an excellent beach for snorkelling. Things to see around these waters include clownfish in their anemones, butterflyfish, giant clams, small blacktip reef sharks, whale sharks and manta rays.
